Did its Own Wear Smartwatch?

Apple still hasn’t confirmed that an iWatch is on the way, but the company’s also dropped a few big hints suggesting it’s definitely working on some sort of wearable device. Now Bryant has confirmed he met with Apple’s design chief Jony Ive earlier this year, though he doesn’t mention the iWatch either way. He also adds that much of his trip to Cupertino was spent answering Ive’s questions, though he did ask the Apple exec for a bit of insight into his design process. In an interview withBloomberg, Bryant says his meeting with Ive was part of a series of one-on-one discussions he’s had with industry leaders ranging from Oprah Winfrey to Arianna Huffington. We’re expecting the iWatch to offer a ton of fitness tracking features while also serving up notifications and other services.

The rumored smartwatch is expected to launch sometime this fall, with recent reports pointing to an October release.Earlier this year someone who looked a lot like NBA all-star Kobe Bryant made an appearance at Apple’s Cupertino campus, sparking rumors he might be collaborating on the long-rumored iWatch. But Apple has reportedly brought in a number of professional athletes to test out the upcoming device, and we’re guessing Bryant may have been one of them.

Even if Bryant did get a chance to see the iWatch, he obviously wouldn’t be allowed to say anything about it to the press. Thank you for reading.

Apple’s A Whole Mac [VIDEO]

Apple has launched a new ad for its ever-popular MacBook Air, but it’s not quite like the ads that came before it. Apple’s done ads that have struck people as strange before, but the famous iPod silhouette ads eventually become wildly popular. Some have pointed the finger at Dr. With its new ad, dubbed ‘Stickers’ for obvious reasons, Apple is seeking to ensure everyone is aware just how popular the MacBook Air is. Us We’d rather see that aluminum in all its unfettered glory.

It’s ‘the notebook people love,’ according to Apple’s dedicated ‘Stickers’ web page, and if you own one, you probably won’t be arguing with that sentiment. You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the web. If this ‘Stickers’ ad is a new theme for Apple, so be it. Just look at a MacBook Air and compare it with that 400 Windows laptop on sale at Best Buy.

We don’t mean that it cares about the environment – it does, by the way – or that it manages to avoid naughty words in its product descriptions – something else it really does – but we’re really talking about how it presents its computers. . The ad itself is nice and simple, showcasing some of the admittedly cool stickers that people put on their MacBooks, most of which make great use of that big illuminated Apple logo on the lid. We’re not sure we’d stick anything to our Macs, but if you like that sort of thing then more power to you.

Apple is without a doubt known as the ‘clean’ computer company. The MacBook Air is a hell of a machine, especially since Apple started putting real CPUs in them. The new ad not only focuses on putting stickers on your new Mac, but it just ‘feels’ different. Dre and Jimmy Iovine as potential influences here, but we’re not really all in on that theory.

See the difference Which is why it’s all the more interesting – nay, odd – to see Apple focusing on stickers of all things in order to push its MacBook Air. While most PCs come laden with stickers advertising all kinds of things from the Intel logo depicting the chip beating at its heart, or the Microsoft Windows logo just to rub it in, Apple’s computers are au naturel, with no branding whatsoever beyond that iconic Apple logo and perhaps the name of the product line that the device is from. Any comment guys?

The cable closely resembles that of the current iPhone 5s, but with one rather notable exception – the headphone jack appears to have two holes for screws to hold it in place. .

tw. It’s got the embedded Apple logo ala the iPads and looks just like other photos we’ve seen of what people believe to be the 4.7-inch iPhone 6′s rear shell. It’s all starting to fall into place, isn’t it The iPhone 6 is expected to go on sale in late-September in 4.

The shell has all the hallmarks of other iPhone 6 rear shells that we’ve already seen leaked here, there and everywhere. As we slip ever nearer the expected September release date for the iPhone 6, the leaks are beginning to gather a pace that those in Cupertino simply can’t hope to outrun.7-inch guise at

Most of the leaks that have popped up so far have been for that 4. In the simultaneously leaked, and heavily claimed iPhone 6 rear shell.5-inch model is expected to follow relatively shortly after. They say that time stands still for no-one, and at this time of year we’re pretty sure that most Apple engineers would agree wholeheartedly.

Oh, and it just so happens to have holes for mounting screens in just the right place for that flex cable, including two for that aforementioned headphone jack. The new leaks appear to show a flex cable that plays host to the iPhone 6′s Lightning connector as well as its headphone jack. Those holes aren’t present in the iPhone 5s. The Wall Street consensus called for earnings of 1.2 million units.23 per share on 38.3 million units.2 million iPhone units in Q3 2013, 14.

Apple just released its fiscal year third quarter 2014 earnings report. We are incredibly excited about the upcoming releases of iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, as well as other new products and services that we cant wait to introduce.4 million units.8 million Mac units.

Mac unit Sales: 4.28 on revenue but missed with 37. iPhone unit sales: 35. Apple CEO Tim Cook called it a record quarter for the company, despite the decline in iPad sales.

Our record June quarter revenue was fueled by strong sales of iPhone and Mac and the continued growth of revenue from the Apple ecosystem, driving our highest EPS growth rate in seven quarters, Cook said. Last year, Apple reported35.47, though that EPS reflects Apple’s share price before its 7-for-1 share split, which is why earnings per shareappear lower this year. Apple set its revenue guidance for Q4 2014 between 37 billion and 40 billion.

03 billion in revenue, and Apple beat expectations with an EPS of 1.3 billion in revenue versus an earnings per share of 7. NBA To Apple Ive [VIDEO]

Interestingly, it seems that it was Kobe whos been calling up various tech industries to figure out how their processes worked. At that time, it was speculated that Apple brought him on for a possible partnership for testing the companys latest fitness wearables. Do you agree Let us know in your comments below. The interview is quite interesting to watch, and you can get a glimpse of it below. Come to think of it, everything in life is just like that, but hey, were not judging.

Bryant explains that his discussions with Ive led him to understand that at the core of it, his line of work and that of Apples arent really that different both of them strive to achieve a certain end goal that involves several complex and connected steps. . It was interesting that Bryant neither confirmed nor denied the earlier reports surrounding Apples possible partnership with different stars in various sports for testing and calibrating its fitness wearables something that the iWatch is expected to have.Earlier in May this year, news circulated the internet that Los Angeles Lakers superstar, Kobe Bryant, spent a day in Apples Cupertino complex, meeting with different executives including Apple Inc.

While we dont really have confirmation around that still, in a recent interview with Bloomberg, Kobe confirmed the meeting with Ive and shed some light on how the discussion went. It would make sense to consider such a partnership with athletes like Kobe Bryant, but until we have confirmation, its all speculation. Akin to a basketball game, where the end goal might be a slam dunk, design and manufacture go hand in hand, and once you have a vision that you aim to make a reality, theres only so much work that needs to be done before it can see the light of day.

The move stems from Kobes winding career in basketball himself, and the superstars plans of entering the gadget manufacturing industry.s Senior Vice President of Design, Jony Ive. Apple iPads And Last Quarter

7 billion.2 million units, which is a full 9 down compared to number of iPads Apple sold this time last year. Coming to the iPad, Apple has managed to sell 13. And if all the reports on the interwebs are to be believed, then were destined to see two new iPhones this year, along with a couple of new iPads, maybe an Apple TV refresh, and an iWatch too, if were lucky enough. Were certain that these numbers will see a dramatic turnaround when Apple comes through with new devices for the lucrative holiday season.

Despite the launch of a cheaper, fifth-generation iPod touch, which is a great iOS device to begin with, the numbers havent really taken off for Apple despite its best efforts, and it will be interesting to note how things pan on as we move towards the holiday season and new numbers are revealed. The Mac is still growing strong, and the company notes that it has managed to sold 4. China growth as demand wanes

“This isn’t something that worries us,” he told the Wall Street Journal. At 37.3 billion and a 6.7 billion net profit, but bested Q3 2013, when Apple posted revenue of 35.

A smartwatch is expected soon, following several related hires, while a larger iPhone may appear this fall alongside the launch of iOS 8.

Earnings were 600 million shy of that amount, however, with revenue of 37. Meanwhile, Apple’s projecting boosted revenue in Q4, between 37 and 40 billion — the company reportedly has quite a few new products in the pipeline, which could impact its balance sheet for the rest of the year.9 billion profit.

During its Q2 conference call in April, in what’s typically a conservative estimate, reps suggested that Q3 revenue could approach 38 billion. What you think?

Apple For iOS Yosemite Betas

In an attempt to make the process as seamless and transparent as possible, the Cupertino-based company has taken the additional step of emailing all registered developers with more in-depth information regarding the purge. Today’s deletion of all public CloudKit databases will be the second such occurrence in the time that has followed since the introduction of the technology at WWDC. You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the web. As part of the process of upgrading internal storage servers to work alongside the launch of the latest iOS 8 and Yosemite betas, Apple performed a similar wipe of CloudKit public data back on July 7th. The creation of CloudKit will ultimately afford developers with the ability to focus on creating impressive and immersive client-side experiences rather than having to deal with the issues that come attached with server-side cloud storage code.

Apple’s introduction of the various CloudKit APIs within iOS 8 and OS 10. Early adopter developers who have chosen to get down and dirty with the new CloudKit APIs will surely appreciate that the wiping of any stored data is ultimately part of the roadmap to launch. As the APIs are being developed and ironed out it seems that testers will need to put up with some bumps in the road with Apple once again notifying developers that all CloudKit data will once again be wiped at some point today. The follow up email sent out to all iOS and OS X developers goes a little further by clarifying why the purge is necessary as well as outline specific data that won’t be part of the deletion: As per Apple’s instructions, if you’re one of the developers tinkering with the new APIs, then make sure you create a copy of any important data that is stored within a public CloudKit database before it’s gone forever.

Yesterday’s iOS 8 beta 4 release and Yosemite’s 4th Developer Preview came attached with release notes informing of the data wipe. .10 Yosemite at this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference was greeted with much glee and excitement from attending developers.

Apple episode of on Netflix

For some reason, however, this post-play feature didn’t work on the Apple TV, until it suddenly did a few days ago, without warning. The Roku-rival has even popped up on Netflix’s list of supported devices, so never again will you have the option of stopping House of Cards after a single episode. When you start chugging a series, it’s hard to stop, even for trips to the bathroom, or going to work, or catching up on sleep. Well, unless you disable it, of course.

It’s a problem that Netflix loves to exploit, only giving you a few seconds before offering up the next episode of whatever series you’re currently immersed in. Let me know what you are thinking.

Apple on iPhone iPhone Air

“Applications operating on a user’s electronic device can also initiate an alert to a nearby electronic wristband,” the patent says.” It’s common for tech firms to patent technology, even without plans to eventually create a product using the patented intellectual property.Apple’s iWatch is expected in October but, without any official word from the company, there are still plenty of folks who aren’t convinced Apple is going to release the device.” It describes receiving and interacting with notifications on the wrist, wireless headphone accessories, a touchscreen display, GPS, Bluetooth, an accelerometer and even applications.

Also, applications can also seek remote user input from the electronic wristband. Still, with all of the rumors surrounding the iWatch, and all of Apple’s recent hires, this seems like the best evidence that a wearable is indeed coming soon. Apple was recently granted a patent titled “Wrist-worn electronic device and methods therefor,” that basically describes a lot of the functionality we expect in the iWatch, though it calls the device the “iTime. Now, thanks to a new patent filing, we have even more evidence that Apple is indeed working on developing its own wearable that syncs with iOS devices.

“For example, the alert could pertain to calendar alerts, stock alerts, weather alerts, etc. Thank you for reading!

Intel CPUs, Likely Pro Refresh

The now popular 4th-gen Intel Haswell CPUs were originally launched back in June 2013. Retina MacBook Pros were last updated in fall 2013. The updated chips, which cover the i5 and i7 families of silicon, see the range receive a 200MHz speed bump for each existing chip, with the low-end offering now being 2.

With its MacBook Pro lineup tightly tied to Intel’s chip release schedule, Apple will be pleased to learn that the chip maker has launched an update to its Haswell line of CPUs.2GHz for Core i7 with the high-end peaking at 3.6-2. Intel’s Broadwell family of CPUs are expected to eventually find a new home in an updated MacBook Air as soon as the silicon is ready, with the rumor being that Apple will hope to ditch all internal fans thanks to the new CPU’s power efficiencies.

Longer lasting batteries and quieter fans are always a plus for us, and if Apple can do away with fans completely, then we’re totally down with that. All the Pro models should see nice speed bumps this fall as part of the newly updated Haswell lineup.0GHz. Clockspeed for Core i5 now ranges between 2.

Apple refreshed its MacBook Air lineup when Intel upgraded its Haswell chips earlier this year, and it’s expected that it will do a similar refresh for the MacBook Pro model’s i5 and i7 chips.

Each new refreshed line coming out of Intel will mean chips that create less heat and need less power – something that notebook computers are always in need of. Updated 2014 version of Intel Haswell CPUs. Apple currently offers the old 2. Let me know what you are thinking.

Apple Access For Snooping Claims

The user must agree to share this information, and data is never transferred without their consent. So there you have it. As we have said before, Apple has never worked with any government agency from any country to create a backdoor in any of our products of services. Zdziarski’s report, which was presented to the HOPE/X conference in New York, managed to ruffle a few feathers by suggesting that iOS contained a number of suspicious background services that could potentially expose a user’s clipboard, voicemail, calendar, notebook and address book data without the need for authentication. As devices become more and more capable with each generational release it’s logical to assume that they will become vital parts of our daily professional and personal lives; even more so than they are now.

In a statement emailed directly to Financial Times journalist Tim Bradshaw Apple has strongly denied working alongside any government agency with the intention of creating backdoor access in any of its products or services. The intricacies and merits of that report are still regarded as questionable at best, but while additional investigation into the claims is being carried out Apple have acted quickly to deny any wrongdoing whatsoever. A user must have unlocked their device and agreed to trust another computer before that computer is able to access this limited diagnostic data. .

Apple’s official response on the subject. Is the word of the fruit company enough to satisfy your concerns as an iOS user Or do we need more transparent investigation into the matter You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the web. As part of its almost immediate response to the situation, Apple has not only reaffirmed its previous statements that the company has not worked with any government agencies to expose data, but goes a step further in an attempt to clarify the background services that have been brought to the public’s attention: We have designed iOS so that its diagnostic functions do not compromise user privacy and security, but still provides needed information to enterprise IT departments, developers and Apple for troubleshooting technical issues. The security and integrity of the data that we trust to our mobile devices is on an ongoing basis is rightly an extremely important topic.

You may have been a little concerned to read a presentation from iOS Security Researcher Jonathan Zdziarski earlier this week that claimed Apple had purposely created backdoor entries that would allow various sets of system and user data to be accessible without the need to authenticate via the usual means.

Amazon for managing Amazon Wallet

There’s another added benefit with Amazon’s service in that your other, far more important financial info is likely already part of Amazon’s system and connected to your profile. It’s not clear when Amazon Wallet is coming out of beta if ever, but for now, consider yourself a guinea pig if you’re jumping in. As a result, when you browse Amazon Wallet through the web, all that extra payment info is all in the same place. Like Apple and Google’s versions, Amazon Wallet collects your gift cards, loyalty programs, and membership cards in one place — on your phone — and pushes them to the cloud. Should you switch from, say, Apple’s iPhone to Amazon’s Fire phone, all that information would move over with you, tied to your Amazon account.

Tried Apple’s Passbook and Google’s Wallet and not feeling satisfied Perhaps Amazon’s flavor of mobile payment app will strike your fancy. It’s also named Wallet, and it arrived in beta form on the Google Play store recently. That is the news today. Have a great day!

Verizon tablet users plans stagnate

That makes 6.5 percent more wireless revenue 21. Big Red added some 1. Still, Verizon saw 7. That means that despite selling a million or so smartphone connections, the company dumped about 700,000 — a considerable slowdown compared to T-Mobile.

Of course, what a lot of customers want especially Netflix users is faster download speeds — Verizon said that it switched 70,000 customers from copper to fiber over the last quarter, which definitely won’t hurt. Though those folks technically count as new connections, Verizon only added 304,000 net phone customers, compared to 940,000 this time a year ago.4 million net retail connections, of whom a whopping 1.

Most of those additions were likely Verizon customers already, who had taken advantage of the More Everything plan to add a tablet to their existing phone plan for 10.5 billion and a similar bump in operating profits.3 million FiOS internet customers total, figures that won’t be hurt by the addition of faster upload speeds.Verizon’s money machine continues to plow on, but much of its wireless growth this quarter came from tablets, not smartphones — a trend that started last quarter.

On the broadband side, Verizon added 139,000 connections to its high-speed FiOS internet plans, with 100,000 new FiOS video connections.15 million used LTE-equipped slates. If you want to learn more about this post, just leave a comment.

iOS And Government Private Data

With all of the NSA spy stories and general scaremongering that has gone on in recent times, the findings of Jonathan Zdziarski, forensic expert and jailbreaking extraordinaire, will not make for particularly happy reading among the general public. At a time when consumers are on red-alert as far as their data, security and privacy are concerned, the supposed safe haven offered by iOS is actually quite susceptible to intrusion by those with the heavy duty forensic tools required. After all, even though, as Zdziarski notes, there’s no imminent threat from malware as a result of said services, the fact that iOS harbors a means for data to be privately and discreetly accessed is worrying, and does compromise the integrity of the OS in general. . However, one jailbreak expert has done some serious digging into the guts of iOS and discovered that while the software is pretty safe from the continued threat of hacks and attacks from malware makers, there are certain loopholes within the iOS make-up that make it potentially easy for Apple and government agencies to covertly get hold of your personal data.

Zdziarski discovered a bunch of services, including but not necessarily limited to "lockdownd," "pcapd," and "mobile.Apple prides itself on the security of its iOS mobile operating system, and aside from the occasional hiccup that besets all software at one point or another, this tends to be the case. via: ZDNet You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web.filerelay" – all of which are able to sneak through your supposedly encrypted backup data and transfer information through a variety of means.

We’re not necessarily holding our breath for an official statement on the matter, but nevertheless, what do you make of all this Be sure, as ever, to leave your comments via the usual channels below. Apparently, the data picked up can then be moved via USB, Wi-Fi and potentially even cellular connection, but since the tools are not accessible to developers or carriers – Apple doesn’t make any mention of them in any of its iOS-related literature – it is very unlikely that those with malicious intent could use these services to unscrupulous ends. Nevertheless, for a company with such a reputation for advocating the interests of the consumer – particularly when it comes to security – the presence of these services is in direct conflict with what Apple is all about, and while the Mac maker has yet to issue a comment on this discovery, it would certainly be interesting to hear an explanation from the top as to why the Cupertino deems the existence of these services to be acceptable. Thank you for reading.

Windows Off The Start Menu

Take a look at these new Windows 9 screenshots below, courtesy of MYCE, and as ever, do leave your thoughts and comments on Windows 9 via the usual channels! Source: MYCE You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web. As you will also notice from the screenshots, the Start menu combines elements of tradition in with the Metro look that Microsoft has been trying to drum into Windows users, so while it’s a reversion to tradition of sorts, we’re not talking about a complete step back here. Even though Microsoft has continued to chop and change the naming scheme of Windows releases through the years, it seems to have settled on a simple numbering scheme, and as such, it’s very likely that the next major release will be treated to the ‘Windows 9′ moniker, unless Microsoft decides to toss in a spanner or two at the end. a large portion of them. It’s not even as though Microsoft had simply hidden it by default – it was just gone – and had the subsequent backlash not been so fierce, Satya Nadella’s company would not have backtracked and remembered that, in fact, only a tiny fraction of its consumer base uses a Surface or device of a similar configuration.

But as the world begins to settle down and adjust to the predominantly tiled appearance of the user interface, one element that many desktop users have never gotten over is the Start menu, or lack of it, and the post-BUILD news that it would be making a dramatic return was met with a collective sigh of relief. At present – as we’ve seen through previous leaks – the Windows 9 work-in-progress is being referred to internally as “Windows 8. Quite literally the cornerstone of Windows for many a decade, the unceremonious manner in which this pivotal feature was removed really ruffled the feathers of the operating system’s vast army of users.

1 Pro,” but apparently, despite the new screenshots denoting this once more, the reference bears very little reflection on the eventual name. Now, some new ‘Windows 9′ screenshots have emerged, and as well as offering an insight into what’s from the software giants flagship OS, also gives us another look at that Start menu we all love so well.Microsoft made a lot of changes with Windows 8, and a large portion of its user base did not agree with, well.
