Here’s iOS 8 Work [Video]

. It also allows companies like 1Password to experiment, create and demonstrate fantastic software that makes use of the latest APIs within iOS, once again demonstrated by the attached Vine. One of those features was Safari Extensions, which as you can see from the accompanying Vine video, affords developers with the ability to offer seamless native tie-ins with their apps when interacting with Mobile Safari. 1Password from AgileBits is well-known for being one of the most comprehensive pieces of software available for storing / recalling passwords for every website visited. The ability to build native Safari Extensions, as well as authenticate users by harnessing the power of Apple’s Touch ID on the iPhone 5s and future devices, will surely mean that the App Store will be full of insanely powerful apps by the end of the year.

This year’s WWDC wasn’t only notable for the fact that we got to witness the future of Mac OS X and iOS, but it was also extremely important as it represented a shift in how Apple sees the future of iOS, as well as the developers who build apps for the platform. As we welcome additional betas of iOS 8 into our lives, and as the latest APIs start to get set in stone for a final release, it’s highly likely that we’ll start to see more developers interrogate what will be possible when iOS 8 officially drops. It may not have come attached with the radical changes that were introduced as part of the transition from iOS 6 to iOS 7, but the announced features and improvements represent a huge shift in how apps will be developed going forward.

The introduction of iOS 8 during this year’s WWDC definitely managed to reignite the passion of developers around the world. The Vine video, uploaded by Gabriel Nevado, shows a native activity sheet within Safari handing the password authentication off to a Safari Extension. It also seems that the company is well and truly embracing the latest Apple technologies in its in-beta version of its iOS app. The 1Password team then uses Touch ID as mean for authentication to seamlessly log into a Amazon account without having to type in a long password each time.

The introduction of Safari Extensions and opening up of the Touch ID APIs indicates that Apple is planning on allowing developers greater access to the internals of iOS. What you think?

Samsung Everything You To Know

4 GHz, allied to a reasonable 1.When Samsung announced and subsequently released the flagship Galaxy S5 earlier this year, we knew that it wouldn’t be the last in the series for 2014, and that the company’s marquee release would spawn a number of spin-offs.5GB of RAM, and although this isn’t anything to write home about by comparison to the main Galaxy S5, it’ll satisfy the requirements of the mid-range market. Indeed, as well as bearing a striking resemblance to the April release, it also carries over several of its key features, notably IP67 certification, Ultra Power Saving Mode, heart rate sensor, and that fingerprint scanner. We’ve already been treated to the likes of the camera-centric Galaxy K, or Galaxy S5 Zoom, but the one we were really waiting for was the down-sized Galaxy S5 mini.

On first impression, what do you make of the Galaxy S5 mini You may also like to check out: Samsung Galaxy S5 Specs, Release Date, Price VIDEO You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web. The Galaxy S5′s rear-facing camera, like its display, has also been heavily lauded by consumers and commentators alike, but while the mini’s 8-megapixel offering doesn’t come with perks like 4K video capture, it will still provide a decent enough point-and-shoot experience to ensure that you don’t miss that Kodak Moment.

From the back, Samsung describes the device’s design as a “unique perforated pattern on the back cover creating a modern and sleek look, along with a premium, soft touch grip,” while the front profile also appears fairly similar to the Galaxy S5.4 KitKat in all of its glory. The full list of specs are as follows: The device will launch over the next couple of weeks in Russia, with expansion farther afield set to follow thereafter.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, and although, once again, this won’t dazzle nor yield the acclaim that the full-size Galaxy S5 has managed so far in its short lifespan, it’ll still present Android 4.

As for colors, you get “Charcoal” Black, “Shimmery” White, “Electric” Blue and “Copper” Gold, and as you’d expect, there’s also LTE connectivity. The Galaxy S5 mini boasts a quad-core SoC clocked at 1. The device also packs a 4. The world of smartphones is a specs-dominated business, and as such, we’ll dive straight into the internal hardware. Aereo back against Court ruling

The beleaguered startup sent out an open letter encouraging all of us to email, tweet, and otherwise petition our land’s leaders to defend the right to use a “modern antenna located in the cloud” to watch all that free over-the-air content. The crux of that decision held that Aereo streaming broadcast television to computers, phone and tablets constituted a public performance in violation of the Copyright Act of 1976. The move must’ve been a crushing one, especially considering just how strongly Kanojia seemed to think the Supreme Court would see things his way. Some of that sheer confidence must’ve just been business-boosting bluster but the worst case scenario has come to pass and Aereo has been keeping terribly quiet about what it’s next steps are going to be. “Tell your lawmakers how disappointed you are that the nation’s highest court issued a decision that could deny you the right to use the antenna of your choice to access live over-the-air broadcast television.

With a new Supreme Court ruling on the books, things are looking awfully grim for Aereo and all those tiny, cloud-friendly antennas it controls. That’s why CEO Chet Kanojia has temporarily turned off the television streaming service, and that’s why he’s asking for help. Is it going to shut down for good Or will it enact some dramatic business model changes to stay afloat The Aereo that comes back may be a totally different beast indeed, and that friends is a damned shame.

“Today, I’m asking you to raise your hands and make your voices heard,” Kanojia wrote.” In case you somehow missed it, the Supremes overturned a lower court’s decision in Aereo’s favor last week. If you have any suggestion, just let me know.

Madrid’s if you fuel hog

Much like London’s congestion charge, Madrid’s metering won’t punish wealthier residents who can easily afford the fees; it’ll certainly hurt poorer locals who can’t afford more recent cars. The system is based on a simple license plate check, although it’s accompanied by parking space sensors that make you pay more if you’re using up one of the last available spots. In theory, the move will persuade locals to either get rid of their old clunkers or take mass transit when they can. Image credit: ©PromoMadrid, author Max Alexander, Flickr. The approach also doesn’t make note of the vehicle type — a brand new SUV may ruin the environment more than an aging compact.

However, there’s concerns that this is more of a revenue grab than a sincere attempt to fight pollution. As of today, the city’s smart parking meters charge up to 20 percent extra if you drive a car that’s likely to either be a fuel hog or put out a lot of exhaust fumes, such as pre-2006 diesels.Madrid has an air quality problem, and it’s taking an unusual approach to getting the offending vehicles off the road: it’s discouraging their drivers from parking. Conversely, you’ll get a discount as high as 20 percent if you’re driving a newer and presumably cleaner-running car; it’s completely free if you’re using an electric vehicle.

Still, the new rates may be helpful if they get people thinking about whether or not they really need to drive downtown. Hope you enjoy reading my article. Leave your comment if you have any. πŸ™‚

50 aren’t subtle, that’s OK

Today, you get to see them out in the wild. You may differ of course, but if thick, pronounced jams are what you want, then these will give it to you. The result is a sporty-looking headset that definitely feels comfortable once the heart rate and sweat starts to rise. It’s a decent upgrade both in therms of aesthetics shiny plastic never really looks that good and feel — the textured finish also feels nicer. The on-ears come with a sweat-proof inner chamber and a rubberized coating to keep them looking box-fresh no matter how many laps you put them through, and there’s even a sports “towel” it’s more of a cloth included to mop your brow! The in-ears won’t come with such luxuries, but they do come in the same striking blue, pink or yellow color options.

Not only are they covered with a perforated leather, the chamber inside is sweat-proof. These are two instant plus points for the new Sync model straight away. The new Sync wireless sports from SMS are, unsurprisingly, very similar to the existing Sync model. I don’t run on the roads, so traffic and other such obstacles aren’t much of a concern.

Prices are 80/150 for the in-ears wired/wireless and 180/230 for the on-ears — and we got an early look at some. The Bluetooth variants all support aptX, which is more than can be said for the other rapper-backed sports buds we saw recently. The problem is, until now, there haven’t been many sweat/sport-friendly pairs of on-ears.

I much prefer the extra isolation that on-ears provide. If thick, pronounced jams are what you want, then these will give it to you. The most significant difference is the finish. The ear pads have been toughened up too.

Yes, some will malign the “healthy” bass, others like me will appreciate it when trying to eke out that extra drop of energy. But, you know what When I’m 5 miles deep on a run, that’s pretty much what I want. Not to mention that running isn’t the only activity that might cause a sweat, where the participants want to listen to their tunes, there’s a whole host of music loving active types to cater for.init” Running with headphones is a divisive subject.

If you find you do drain them, there’s a 3.5mm jack and cable so you can wire them in like regular headphones which means they’re good for all devices, Bluetooth or otherwise. Some swear by it, others deplore it. As a refresher, there are on-ear and in-ear models and you can choose wired Street or wireless Sync varieties depending on how you roll.

Let alone wireless ones. SMS Sync wireless sport hands-on See all photos 15 Photos when. More than that, these are the best wireless model I’ve seen from SMS to date, so either way, things are looking up.Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was kind enough to give us an early look at his line of sport-friendly headphones on stage back at CES.

The bass isn’t ridiculous — it’s what you might refer to as “generous. When it comes to sport-friendly on-ears, the Sync wireless are hard to knock.” I’d reach for these over a pair with a flatter response every workout, every time. The shiny plastic of the current model is out, and a new rubberized nano-coating is in.

Looks are one thing, but audio is the money here, right Already I suspect that critics are sharpening their knives, as is de rigueur when discussing any celebrity made/owned/built/endorsed headphones.eng”eng. The battery should be good for upwards of eight hours playback or talk, given that they double as a hands-free too. The Sync wireless sport are loud and definitely “ample” when it comes to the low-end frequencies, there’s no skirting it.

The phenomenon was also allegedly found to be more prominent when the person phoning shared a strong emotional bond with the recipient. If you’ve ever received a phone call out of the blue that you weren’t expecting but somehow found that you knew who was on the other end before you even picked up the phone then you aren’t alone – the phenomenon of ‘telephone telepathy’ is not a new one.

In addition to enhancing the overall performance of the software Pebble has also rolled out dramatically enhanced Bluetooth LE connectivity performance update as well as a new method of skipping through wrist-based notifications.

However, it’s highly unlikely that any Apple product would take the form of an actual wrist watch, leaving Pebble to continue to operate in a class / category of its own.3 of the Pebble firmware brings with it a number of expected stability improvements and minor bug fixes, as you would expect from any firmware release. Rather than presenting the user with a “Coming Soon” message the apps can be downloaded directly onto the device with minimal fuss. It’s widely accepted that Cupertino based Apple is planning on entering the market with a wearable of its own within the next six months.

Owners – or “Pebblers” as the company prefers to call them – of the original or Steel variants of the smartphone compatible timepiece are able to head on over to the App Store right now to grab the updated iPhone app.2. The latest feature applies to notifications that have scrolling content and allows the user to simply double press the next or previous buttons to jump directly to the previously viewed notification or the next one waiting in line. If the updates and functionality improvements continue to come at the current rate then it’s hard to see any like-for-like competitor catching up.

Pebble has allowed additional apps written in JavaScript to be available to iOS users directly through the app. Thank you for reading.

‘Super-Earth’ yet that support life

That means it’d receive about the same amount of heat energy, so scientists granted it an Earth Similarity Index ESI rating of 0. Image credit: PHL, University of Puerto Rico, Arecibo.

However, being there would bear little resemblance to living on Earth. It’s at least five times as massive, for starters, and is so close to its sun that a year is only 16 days. The extra gravity from its larger size could trap a denser atmosphere, resulting in a strong greenhouse effect and hellish, Venus-like climate. Thanks to a wobble in its host star, researchers from UNSW have spotted a planet only 16 light-years away that could harbor life shown in an artist’s conception, above.

That said, living there could present some challenges. Though you’d think that’d make the planet, called Gliese 832c, a fried hunk of rock, its sun is a red dwarf star which emits much less energy than our yellow dwarf.81 — the third best seen yet Earth is 1. Any comment guys?

iPod model with the UK

A few days ago, Apple killed off the stripped-down 16GB version of its iPod touch as quietly as it was introduced last year. It launched immediately in the US, and now it’s available from Apple in the UK for £159, down from £199 for the previous, camera-less model. Originally £249, the 32GB iPod touch is now £199, while the 64GB version that used to be £329 has dropped to £249. And, if 16GB just doesn’t cut it, there’s never been a better time to spring for the 32GB or 64GB models, given they’ve also received a favourable discount.

Best of all, the new configuration is actually cheaper than its predecessor despite an improvement in hardware. In its place, a new 16GB model emerged with the same 5-megapixel iSight camera and color selection as its counterparts with higher storage capacities. Hope you enjoy reading my article. British prove life First Class

If you can blow £3,000 5,100 on a first-class ticket, you’re probably reasonably contented at how your life turned out. British Airways wanted to be sure you were enjoying your time in the air, so paired an EEG headset with a fiber-optic cloth to create the Happiness Blanket. Now imagine what the blankets would have been like if they’d tested this out in cattle class when someone’s elbow is trying to make a nest in your ribcage. The attention-grabbing project senses your mental state and changes color depending on your mood — showing red for annoyance and blue for contentment.

Unsurprisingly, the “research” proved that a full-size bed, fresh food and unlimited champagne is enough to keep you happy on an eight-hour flight. Hope you enjoy reading my article. Leave your comment if you have any. πŸ™‚

Mars experiments for 2018 mission

Image Credit: NASA/Pat Rawlings adsbygoogle = window.push; The non-profit organization is now accepting proposals for scientific payloads that it can send to mars. The overall goal of Mars One is to settle humans on Mars.”. With its controversial plan to send humans to live on Mars in the not-too-distant future, the Netherlands-based Mars One has been raising more than a few eyebrows of late with critics arguing that the technology and resources available simply aren’t sufficient for it to make good on its promises.

adsbygoogle .In the short term though Mars One has its sights set on a rather more obtainable objective with a plan to launch a robotic lander to the Red Planet by 2018 with a cargo of seven payloads. In the long term the aim is to send four more people to live on Mars via successive missions every two years. Four will be technology demonstration payloads such as water extraction , one will be selected in a competition and the remaining two will be for sale to the highest bidder.

“We’re not only looking for scientific proposals but also for outreach or educational ones.Despite the impractical nature of what it is trying to accomplish however the organization is still planning to launch the first of several manned trips within the next 12 years.”The brightest young minds of our planet are being invited to participate in Mars One’s first Mars lander,” said co-founder Bas Lansdorp. Samsung’s the top benchmark league

Now, judging from reviews of the first V-NAND consumer SSDs, the 850 Pro range, it looks like this shift has resulted in a geniune and unequivocal boost to performance. For the last year or so, Samsung has been touting a “paradigm shift” in the way it constructs flash memory: from a horizontal to a vertical arrangement of cells, or what it calls 3D V-NAND. Compared to synthetic and real-world scores from rival drives, made by the likes of Intel and Crucial, Sammy’s 850 Pro “led the pack almost across the board,” according to HotHardware. Reviews of the Samsung 850 Pro SSD: HotHardware TechSpot The SSD Review The Tech Report Tom’s Hardware. Then again, Tom’s Hardware noted that Samsung is now pushing the limits of the SATA interface, such that other products are “within a stone’s throw” of the the 850 Pro’s scores at least until a PCI Express version comes around.

Actual street pricing, meanwhile, will only be established over the course of this month, as the 850 Pro starts to become widely available. The 128GB drive costs 130, while the maxed-out 1TB option costs 730, equating to a cost per gigabyte that is almost twice as high as other recent drives that lack the cutting-edge NAND such as Crucial’s MX100. What’s more, all the reviews listed below highlighted the fact that the new line-up comes at a significant premium, even when you factor in Samsung’s nice 10-year warranty. Thank you for reading!

OUYA’s you ‘everything’ a year

Read the fine print, however, and it’s clear this isn’t quite the Netflix of Android gaming.00 — users still have to rummage through the store and “buy” titles if they want to play. OUYA’s all-access pass doesn’t instantly make every titles in the console’s library available to you, but it does drop all of the game’s prices down to 0.

OUYA is trying. The message asserts that this is a test to see if a subscription model makes sense for OUYA in the long term. When the developer of your platform’s most popular game says “being the best game on OUYA isn’t a huge deal,” it might be time to innovate.

According to an email sent to developers, the All-Access pass is a limited time offer, and purchases made by subscribers will still contribute to their regular earnings.99 buys a year’s worth of access to every game on OUYA. There are some restrictions, too: purchases made with the OUYA All-Access pass must fall under 30 a piece, and the zeroed-out prices don’t carry over to in-game purchases. It isn’t clear if these free “purchases” will stay on the user’s account after their 12-month subscription expires.

At the time Sprint was at 200 million LTE POPs, though we’re not sure how much the carrier’s footprint has expanded since then.Earlier this month T-Mobile said it was on track to cover 230 million Americans with LTE service, and today the carrier claims it has officially hit that goal. VAIO Sony and very familiar

We’re not going to complain too much about either both were strong laptops from Sony, and the 11-inch VAIO Pro was downright good-looking but we’re still hoping VAIO will pull something else out of the bag as this press event progresses. Unfortunately, its debut range are more than a little familiar, being identical to the Pro and Fit models its parent company launched almost exactly one year ago. The company says that its work will center “choices” and “focus” — it’s only making PCs now and it vows to maintain that VAIO DNA and attention to detail to whatever it’s got planned next. Teasing its relaunch online, the company says that it’s free and that things are going to change.

To the new CEO’s credit, Takayuki Sekitori admitted that the two initial models were very well received — and that was part of the point. The Japanese blurb says that’s largely due to the fact that it’s now a “small” PC maker — and it’s the same message the new company is trying to deliver at its launch event today in Tokyo.VAIO’s back. It’s no longer Sony’s PC business, but it’s own independent beast.

Minus that old Sony branding, both ranges go on sale today in Japan. Once we hear more on its overseas plans, we’ll update this post. Thank you for reading.
