Google Over Cellular, Answering, More

What makes this update so significant is that it brings some of the most-requested features to the table." Still, when they do arrive, we’ll be sure to give you the heads-up, so stay tuned! Source: Google Glass Google You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web. This week, Explorers will be able to sink their retinas into a healthy batch of new updates, including the ability to back up photos and videos over cellular connection as well as remove them from the timeline, along with some new smart features relating to the answering of calls. more photos and videos! Finally, the way Glass deals with voice calls is set to get smarter.

There’s no precise release date or time for the new feature roll-out, with the Project Glass team simply encouraging users to "look out for these changes over the course of this week. The progress of Glass during the past twelve months has been phenomenal, with functionality having been expanded at regular intervals since the Explorer Edition first began trickling out to developers and creative individuals last year. . Acknowledging that backing up photos and videos can eat into those precious megabytes of data, Glass has hitherto only offered backups via Wi-Fi.

The world of augmented reality has come along in leaps and bounds over the past couple of years, and with Facebook’s recent purchase of Oculus VR – admittedly a very different technology to that of Glass – the world is finally coming to terms with the fact that head-mounted gadgets may soon become commonplace. The team behind Project Glass has been steadfast in offering constant updates to the software of the beta’d face computer, and via the official Google page, has announced a series of updates headed the way of Glass Explorers this week. It will be able to automatically detect whether you’re making or answering a call on Glass or on your phone, adapting accordingly, and if you’re not wearing Glass, you’ll find that incoming calls are no longer routed through to the vacant device. Explorers can now also clear all photos and videos from timeline in one fell swoop once they have been synced, which, in turn, frees up precious storage space for.

But thanks to the comments of users, the Glass team has now caved, allowing users to back up on any Internet connection of their choosing. I guess that is the end of the story.

Paym money by goes live

The process may sound familiar, as Barclay’s Pingit app has been capable of the same thing, regardless of which bank you’re allied with, since it launched in 2012. To use Paym, you’ll first need to associate your mobile number with your UK bank account either online or through your bank’s mobile app. Most well-known banks and building societies support Paym at launch, with the only notable exceptions being the Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest, which are expected to join up sometime this year, and Nationwide, which’ll wait until early 2015 to adopt Paym.Paym, a new mobile payment platform that lets you send money to a mate for your share of Friday’s curry with only their phone number to hand, is now live in the UK. Until then, though, anyone with unsupported accounts can still use Pingit, so no excuses as to why you can’t contribute towards the cab fare.

The only real difference with Paym is that it’s integrated into the systems and apps of other banks, making it a bit more visible, and convenient. Once that’s done, you can send or receive money up to £250 from anyone that’s also signed up to Paym using nothing but mobile numbers.. Hope you enjoy reading my article. And with that you’ll have to excuse us as we take a bit of time to kill off some Creepers and Zombies to cheer ourselves up. Hit up the link below to play it through, or, if you’d rather follow on to Ludum Dare to get the source code and learn more. From start to finish, it takes about 10 minutes to complete if you button smash, much longer if you take the time to follow the — decidedly glum — narrative. The game continues this way, gradually growing in complexity as you give up things you’ve solved to advance in life, get a job, meet a lover and grow. The theme for this event, Ludum 29, was: beneath the surface. While the game’s intro tells us, “There is nothing,” there is a lot more to the little word game beneath the surface. Drowning in Problems is in fact Minecraft creator Markus Persson’s entry in Ludum Dare.

Upon installation of theKeyShortcuttweak, users are able to select all, copy and paste text by simply long-pressing the A, C and V buttons on their device’s keyboard respectively, which streamlines functionality with the manner in which most of us are accustomed to.0. As aforementioned, you can pick KeyShortcut up from the BigBoss repository, which should be among your default list of sources in Cydia provided that you haven’t taken it upon yourself to remove it. KeyShortcut mightn’t bring a lot to the table – or into our lives for that matter – and we do feel like it could be expanded upon to add more shortcuts in the future, but even at its current duration, it’s definitely worth checking out.

A newly-released, free tweak over at the BigBoss repo has sought to bridge the gap between the rather lackluster iOS keyboard and that of the desktop rig by bringing a couple of the traditional keyboard shortcuts to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. With stuttering ease-of-use and AutoCorrect remaining the bane of people’s lives, the keyboard is certainly a feature that we hope Apple improves with iOS 8, but until then, the jailbreak scene does offer some useful, enhancing tweaks. For tutorials on how to jailbreak, check out: iOS 7 7. As an added bonus, it’s completely free to download and user, so give it a whirl, and be sure to leave your impressions via the comment section provided below.

For one, productivity on a traditional computer set-up tends to be higher, which is due partially to the myriad of keyboard shortcuts that facilitate smooth workflow, and while some mobile keyboards like Swype and SwiftKey have made inroads, the Apple iOS effort remains in the dark ages. Touch-based smartphones and tablets are often labeled as “post-PC” devices, but while they have become remarkably more intelligent and powerful over the past couple of years, they’ve also yet to completely negate the need for desktops and notebooks. Any comment guys?

LG Sent Out, May 27th

Given the laudable designs of the iPhone 5s and HTC One range, it’s clear that consumers want their handsets to be enveloped in premium materials wherever possible, and given that most of LG’s devices have hitherto followed the Samsung ethos of robust polycarbonate, something more elegant and high-end would serve as a welcome change. HTC made great inroads last year, and with many Android fans having already helped the Galaxy S5 enjoy a record-breaking first weekend in the retail market, it will be intriguing to see how LG plays this one. On the following day, May 28th, the company’s native Seoul, as well as Singapore and Istanbul, will host similar launch events. With the recent releases of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC’s One M8, Korean company LG is about to take the wraps off its new flagship handset. You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web.

This particular shade is very much in vogue right now, so it makes sense for LG to oblige, but what’s particularly intriguing is the possibility of a brushed aluminum finish. The invitations for special cross-continental launch events in late May have just been dished out, and we’ve got the important details right here. Unsurprisingly, it’s set to be called the LG G3, succeeding last year’s release of the LG G2, and although we haven’t been treated to many leaked details as yet, we’re expecting yet another powerhouse device with a couple of unique quirks to boot. Giving the generally positive critical reception of the Galaxy S5, with its great display and camera, as well as the HTC One M8, a marked improvement on what many already considered to be the greatest Android handset of all time in the One M7, LG certainly has its work cut out.

On May 27th, the LG G3 will be showcased in both San Francisco and New York, as well as London. . The invitation to the forthcoming event also quotes the great Ralph Waldo Emerson in stating that “To be simple is to be Great,” so we assume – and hope – that the G3 lives up to the billing and gives the current heavyweights a run for their money. Following a trend started by Apple with the iPhone 5s and utilized by almost every OEM since, the LG G3 will very likely offer a gold color configuration. Thank you for reading!

Samsung’s Explain Why iPhone 5s

The fact that, for example, Samsung talks about how the Galaxy S5′s display offers more real estate and pixels than the iPhone 5s, is a legitimate claim, and in sticking only to facts, these ads seem both more respectable and respectful than some of the diatribe we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks. . But perhaps now – amid impressive early sales – Samsung has realized that there’s no need, and that instead, it can use its airtime to inform and laud its own product. I don’t know about you, but whenever these companies take cheap shots at one another, it always seems a tad distasteful, lacking in grace. Although the former is still a major manufacturer of components relating to iOS devices, the constant in-court patent disputes exemplify the fact that there’s no love lost between the two major players in the mobile industry, and given how the Galaxy S5 only released a couple of weeks ago, it’s not surprising that a sizeable chunk of the marketing budget has been blown on some not-so-subtle digs at the Mac maker.

The second then offers a mini-tour of the full-HD Super AMOLED display, which, in the eyes of most, is the best panel ever seen on a smartphone.Samsung’s Apple-bashing ways are well documented throughout the tech community, with the Cupertino company all too happy to put forth its own slanderous marketing campaigns in order to belittle its fiercest competitor. A further two clips look at both S Health and Ultra Power Saving Mode, and you can check all of the new ads as embedded below for your viewing pleasure. But in its latest spate of Galaxy S5 ads, Sammy has shown that it can explain where and how its flagship is better than that of its rival’s without getting into the school playground-esque fare that many have grown tired of.

Certainly, the iPhone 5s is mentioned during one or two of the four new shorts that the company has released in order to showcase the device’s myriad of features, but all in all, manages to keep things clean. You may also like to check out: Samsung Galaxy S5 Video Review You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web. Hulu phone, and cable box

One advantage Hulu has always had over other streaming services is that it has newer TV shows, and you can watch them for free. Hulu will finally offer free full length episodes to mobile users, thoughts.” Other news includes that it’s crested six million subscribers to Plus so far — it had five million in December — and that its quest to “lead the industry in ad innovations” has resulted in several new developments. New CEO Mike Hopkins also mentioned that Hulu is talking to cable providers to get the Plus service on set-top boxes — Netflix just launched on a few smaller providers — although there aren’t any deals to announce yet. The most notable of them is the “In-Stream Purchase Unit” it’s bringing out later this year that at launch, will let viewers order from Pizza Hut without leaving Hulu.

The CEO said Hulu will triple its spending on marketing its original content, and the network already plans to spend more on developing and acquiring new original shows going forward. What’s frustrated viewers however, is that it only applies if you’re watching on a computer, since phones and TV apps have always required a Plus subscription that opens up a slightly different library of content. Today in New York the streamer announced that this summer it’s going to offer “a selection of ad-supported full TV episodes on mobile devices– for free. Hopkins isn’t only investing in add innovations though, as Hulu also announced it’s new original show Deadbeat has been renewed for a second season. Hope you enjoy reading my article. Graphene: and potentially potent pollutant

Jacob Lanphere and his colleagues at UC Riverside is simply that humanity needs to stop and think about how it’s going to house, transport and dispose of this stuff safely: “The situation today is similar to where we were with chemicals and pharmaceuticals 30 years ago. They’ve shown that graphene oxide nanoparticles fail to break apart easily in lakes and rivers, such that they can last a long time and travel large distances in water, potentially with serious consequences for the environment. We just don’t know much about what happens when these engineered nanomaterials get into the ground or water.”. As to what these consequences might be, exactly, nobody really knows — although there’s growing evidence that certain forms of graphene can be toxic, especially if they come into contact with the lungs.

At this point, however, the main conclusion reached by Dr..While the rest of the world has been harping on about how strong, conductive, light-sensitive and generally amazing graphene is, stern-faced researchers at the University of California have been investigating the material’s potential downsides. Nintendo an extra May 30th

31 2013; Xbox One isn’t far behind at 5 million. The hope is, in the long run, more consoles in homes means more game / accessory sales which is where the real money is for Nintendo. With major third-party publishers like EA and Ubisoft largely abandoning the Wii U, Nintendo’s leaning on first-party software to sell the system. The PlayStation 4’s sales are already outpacing the Wii U, at 7 million consoles compared to Nintendo’s 5.

Should the eighth entry in the Mario Kart series pique your interest, Nintendo’s got a pretty fantastic bundle arriving at the end of May with a copy of the game, an extra Wii Remote Plus gamepad, and a free download of one of four games. The price isn’t a measure of Nintendo trying to save you dough, but one of a company struggling to make its game console relevant against growing competition from Sony and Microsoft. Like Microsoft offering Titanfall bundled in with Xbox One, Nintendo is bundling a major, exclusive release with its console, and taking a hit on profits from game sales in favor of putting more Wii Us in more living rooms.99 — a pretty great deal considering the Wii U system in the box costs 300 by itself! Head below for a new trailer for Mario Kart 8, as well as more on why Nintendo would offer a brand new game for free alongside its console.

All that stuff comes together in one box for 329.You don’t have a Wii U yet, right You’re forgiven, and far from unique in that respect, anyway — you’re a unique snowflake otherwise. And that’s where this Spring’s Mario Kart 8 comes in, the latest entry in a series going back to the Super Nintendo era.86 million as of Dec.

The company also announced this week that it’s going to once again skip holding a press conference at E3, instead opting to host a Nintendo Direct video stream. That is the news today. Have a great day!

50 mummies unearthed in Egyptian tomb

Some of the mummies are thought to be princes and princesses however much of what was once buried alongside them has long been lost. The remains, believed to date back to the 18th Pharaonic dynasty, were found alongside several artifacts including wooden coffins that would have originally contained the bodies and death masks that are believed to have been used during the burial ceremonies. The finding this week of a tomb containing the remains of at least 50 people has been generating great interest in archaeology circles and demonstrates that there is still much left undiscovered beneath Egypt’s desert sands. Mario Coming, Score Digital Game

Mario Kart 8 will hit the Wii U on on May 30th. Perhaps this is the difference between Nintendo Directs and Nintendo Digital Events from here on out. There will be a bundle, which you can read about in full right here, for 329 and some special deals to take advantage of. So, how was the surprise Direct. No livestream, no announcement ahead of time, just the video.

Nintendo dropped a 36 minute long Nintendo Direct presentation for the upcoming Mario Kart 8 in our laps this morning. Regardless, the Direct at the top of this post drops all sorts of information regarding the upcoming game, courses, items, character unlocks and more. One is livestreamed, the other is not. I guess that is the end of the story.

Premium Replace Google’s Smartphone Program

The source also claims that LG and Motorola will be the first ones to manufacture these Silver devices, while the remaining ones like HTC, Samsung and Sony Mobile might take a while longer. The series that started with Nexus One and continued all the way up to Nexus 5 has always promised a high-quality pure Android experience throughout the years, sans any manufacturer modifications or bloatware, as weve come to know it or delays in receiving updates enforced by the OEMs. Source: TheInformation You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web. The new program will change quite a few things, with the biggest one being the target market. .

Not only that, but Google will also invest heavily in marketing these devices through in-store and carrier partnerships, providing exclusive Google Android kiosks in certain locations to promote the expensive handsets. The Mountain View company is aiming at streamlining the user experience across Android Silver devices, with removal of extra software and prompt software updates that arent manufacturer dependent. Fret not; it is being replaced by something bigger and better, which the insider sources claim to have been dubbed Android Silver program. Apparently, the devices that will be released under the Silver label will be purely high-end smartphones that will run latest Android versions without being touched by OEM modifications.

It appears that the search giant is looking for a more granular level of control over what OEMs can do with its software. The Nexus lineup of devices has made a fan following of its own, and rightly so. It appears that Google has finally taken heed of the fact that a mere 14 of Android devices right now are running the latest Android KitKat, whereas with Apple, its major competitor, even the four-year-old iPhone 4 got the iOS 7 update, and in a pretty usable format. However, at the same time, the whole initiative is aimed at the expensive, top of the line devices, and the void that will get created in the mid-range market which the Nexus lineup currently occupies, will remain just that – a void.

It seems, however, that the line has finally come to a close, with Nexus project about to be discontinued. There are certain other objectives for Google behind this move, too. Does Google have a plan I guess well find out. The move overall is a rather interesting one for multiple reasons. Thank you for reading!

Hackers Bitcoin-laundering app ‘Dark Wallet’

Ever since sites like Silk Road showed the dark side of anonymous Bitcoin transactions, governments have been trying to regulate the crypto-currency. As for whether it could be used in murder-for-hire or other abhorrent crimes “Liberty is a dangerous thing,” Wilson said. But according to Wired, authorities like the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network are “well aware” of the software, and plan to be “vigilant” about activities around it. Whether you agree with that or not, the app is set to arrive tomorrow.

It was first launched on Indiegogo, where it met its 50,000 funding goal, thanks in part to Bitcoin donations. Though such software is questionably legal, the group flat-out admitted that the app’s main purpose is for illicit transactions, like those on the now-defunct Silk Road. But a group of coders — headed by 3D-printed gun creator Cody Wilson and Amir Taaki above — want to keep that genie out of the bottle with a new app called Dark Wallet. In brief, the latter code registers multiple transactions as a single movement of funds, masking transfers.

The software could make it nearly impossible to trace the currency’s flow, thanks to a one-two punch of encryption and “CoinJoin” technology. Let me know what you are thinking.

Sony’s to make Android fun

The idea is to turn discovering your phone’s features into a series of console-style achievements and unlocks. At the moment, Evolution UI is just a research project that’s been kicking around Sony’s headquarters. The company has announced Evolution UI, an intentionally hobbled Android launcher that forces you to perform perfunctory tasks before you can properly use the device.”. In practice, it feels as if the system could frustrate anyone but the most green technology users.

For instance, when you first launch the system, you’ll only be able to access the dialer, SMS app, browser and camera.Ever get “ghost hands,” where you’re always trying to take the smartphone away from a novice to show them how it’s done Well, Sony is working on something a little more polite. That’s why if it ever does come to retail hardware, we’d be looking for the off switch — if we had to go through all of these hoops every time we opened a new device, we’d quickly develop a condition far worse than “ghost hands. That said, the company has released the launcher to GitHub for others in the open source community to play around with.

If you wanted to open the app drawer, however, you’d have to earn it as an achievement by starting and closing five apps in quick succession. Thank you for reading!
